Default New Monoblock Wheels

UPS had a great delivery for me this week. Four Monoblock F14's from Finspeed, 18x8.5 F and 18x10 R. I usually put wheels on all my cars so my first Porsche needed something special. I usually go with BBS but have always loved the looks and light weight of forged monoblocks and Finspeed offers a super high quality wheel for a price I could justify.

The wheels are amazingly light. My "close enough" bathroom scale had the fronts at 19.5lbs and the rears at 20.5.

A pic of the wheels

And a few pics of the car they are going on, my 2000 911 C4 Millennium Edition

I will post again when I get the tires swapped over and the wheels mounted on the car.

These wheels look great in person. Very nice finish. I'd love the f18 or f11 in 18x9.5/11. But I'm trying to keep my spending in check!

The 996 really looks dated and uninspired with the twists. Looking forward to seeing the new wheels on!

Me too!!! I just had my IMS done, that plus the wheels is all I can afford for the 911 this year.

I need to post a better picture, the one above is not crisp. The finish and quality of the machining is awesome. I went with the tinted clear coat finish which gives me the darker shade I want and still shows the workmanship up close.

Finspeed was great to deal with, they always answered questions the same day and delivered within the lead time they quoted me BEFORE I ordered. I have waited as long as six months for wheels. Finspeed quoted 3 weeks and I had them a few days after three weeks and they had a water main break that knocked out their finishing operation for a day or so.

I agree... although I always liked the twist wheels as being a Porsche "signature" of the era they look dated now.

I think the Finspeeds will go well with the LED tails etc to update the look of the car.

Next is rear wing/spoiler. I change my mind every day on what I want to do with the back end.

mhs525 - beautiful wheels!

Did you buy them direct from Finspeed or through a dealer? How was your buying experience?

Can't wait to see pictures of these wheels on your 996!

I ordered them directly from Finspeed.

This sounds over the top but the buying experience was incredible. I have been modding cars for 20+ years and could write a book about broken promises, months and months chasing parts (that I had paid for). Emails never answered phone calls never returned. I almost stopped working on cars because it was getting so frustrating trying to get parts.

With Finspeed it was great, I sent an email, they responded. I called to go over specifics, what finish, what offset, etc. I send them a check and I had my wheels 3.5 weeks after ordering and they are just fantastic wheels.

I guess the car is a keeper! Those are amazing wheels, and will make your Porsche even more stunning. Is that the VioletChroma color? The interior looks sharp, as well.

The car was repainted black, the Violet chromaflair was really dull and looked like mud. The car was painted black before I bought it. Not original anymore but it looks a lot better. People who don't know Porsches constantly ask me if the car is new.

It has 57k miles and was a three owner car. I did all the fluids and filters last year, along with a few end links, front and rear wheel bearings and spark plugs and coil packs. Put a new battery and new tires on at the beginning of this year along with a four wheel alignment and I just did the IMS bearing along with SS brake lines.

The car is sorted and drives great, its a lot of fun and now that the IMS is done I won't be nervous getting in the upper end of the revs where the car really comes alive.
