Well, I happened upon an auction that no one else was bidding on, so I picked it up for $30. Just lucky I guess. I wouldn't expect to find that deal again. Best part: It turns out the guy works about a mile from me. Picked it up and didn't even have to pay shipping.
I'm not sure about that one exactly but I'm sure the generic ones are all the same. I had it briefly on my car and I also had a B&M on my car previously. Couldn't tell them apart and worked the same. FWIW, I went through 4 shifters already but I tend to do that alot.
Don't over think this.
Bottom line: If you want short and don't mind notchy feeling and a bit of extra shift effort, get B&M if you have extra cash or get ebay if you don't.
If you want buttery smooth and willing to sacrifice a bit of throw, get regular stock 997 shifter. If you want in between, get 997 SSK. If you want more precise feel, get 997 SSK GT3 2010.

Please let us know the details of how the shifter is working for you?
Seriously FOUR of them? Are you just swapping them out to see if you like a different one better, or are you wearing them out?
Opinions are like @ssholes especially on subjective things like color, feel, sound, comfort, etc.
Because of this I tend to try things out numerous times for myself. Not financially smart all the time but at least I know what works and what doesn't for me and what opinions are far off the mark in relation to my characteristics.
Fwiw, I'm on my fifth exhaust, 3rd suspension, 4th rim/tire combo, 3rd engine mount, 3rd seat. I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple things.
I've had 997.2 stock, 997.2 oem ssk, 997.1 on gt3 (same as 997.1 carreras) and 996 gt3 cup. By far the best feel is the 996 cup shifter. Similar to 997.2 gt3rs shifter.
I personally wouldn't buy a cheap clone. If the linkage breaks you are SOL driving the car.

That's cool. I'm 100% in agreement on trying things out until you find one you like. It's just that you had me wondering if these things wore out like tires or what!

What linkage is this that you speak of? The parts that would most likely break first are on the OEM assembly since its made mostly of plastic.
Also to truly get the cup car shifters working 100% like they were intended, part of that magic comes from the cup car shift cables, which are different from street cables.
Let me get this straight. If I buy the Nirvana shaft she would be totally satisfied. I don't need any stinking PUP cables right? Just what comes with the part 2010 997 GT3 shifter (997.424.010.91). For that price it better vibrate!
