Default Seat Back Insert

The seat back insert on my 99 996 is coming apart. Specifically, there is black fabric on the back side of the insert and this is tearing. This is causing the top to come loose. Not a big deal, but it doesn't look so good. How does the seat come apart so that I can have this repaired?

Here is a pict.

Thanks

The center section lifts up to unhook it and fold it down on to the squab. That should let you see what is going on and maybe fix it without having to strip the seat.

This pic is from the web. The back is folded forward onto the cushion.

That's the only easy repair on the seat. It attaches with a clip on the bottom and a clip behind the top. If you grab that piece and lift it straight up it and then pull it, out it will unhook the back clips.

I bet when you do this you problem may be it is just not clipped on both sides. If the fabric is torn I bet you can find one on ebay cheap. There are lots out there because they don't wear. If it is heated there will be a power cord which you will have to unclip.

If that not enough instruction let me know. I have an extra seat in the basement I can take pics of and show you
