Default adjusting 996 cabrio window.

I replaced my wife's window regulator today and now the window won't go down all the way. About 1" shows above the seal. How is this adjusted?

You need to remove the upper stop on the regulator. It's designed for a boxster and a 911. I had this happen to me last year and thanks to the forum it's a easy fix.

Take out the "Boxster" stop on the regulator.

"With the door panel removed, bring the window down to about four inches higher than the door. Look at the left side of the regulator where the window clamps in. There is an adjustment screw to lower and raise the window, There is also a stop when the window is opened all the way. You will probable see another stop ~2 inches above the bottom stop which will cause the window to not open all the way. Remove that stop."

So I looked up into the door from below at the adjusting holes. The stop you speak of is on the forward rail of the regulator. I can see both stops from below. How is this stop removed. Is it screwed into the regulator or just clipped on. If its clipped on I can crack it off without damaging the regulator without pulling the door apart again. If its screwed in I have to remove the door panel to access. Does anyone have experience?

you will need to remove the regulator and unscrew it. I don't think you can do it with it in.
