Default 1999 996 C4... what is a fair price in bay area?

I started off looking for a 993 (which I still prefer) but I cant find one and there seem to be lots of 996 c4 around. It is reasonable to be able to find one under 40K? are there lots of problems with the 1999 models?

Not sure about the SF market but a 99 C4 is going to be in the 42 - 47K range depending on miles, options, and condition. At $42K you are likely looking at 45K++ miles.

99 C4 in the $40K range and below...good luck! My daily driver '99 C4... No Problems. Realistically, I would NOT expect to find one, even with high mileage, under $50K. I am uncertain where that $42K number is coming from or if any (that have not been simply thrashed) have ever been found for that price.

Default c4

I see ALOT of 996 c2 in the paper for between 40 and 47. Cabs are sometimes offered inthe high 30's Is the C4 that much more expensive.

I would say you should be able to find a C2 in that price range but agree with everyone else that a C4 might be a stretch. If you don't have to have a C4 look for C2's you will hit your money strike zone then.
