Nope, just resealed the one IMS cover bolt and relubed the various clutch parts.

Have you made sure the water pump isn't failing? These engines transmit sounds across them all the time. More than once I have had a water pump sound like the noise was coming from the bell housing.
Pull the belt next time it's warm and making the noise, then see how it responds.

I replaced the pump 4 months ago, also problem is now fixed with the replaced DMF
