Default Paint code location?

Trying to determine how you know what your paint code is on your 996? I have a Black 2001 996 but have been told they're different Porsche blacks... Any help appreciated - thanks

In the frunk, under the carpet on the driver's side fender there should be a sticker with the paint code. You can also run your VIN through Porsche and get a list of all options, codes, etc.

The code is there for 996/997 on gas cap door

On 993, it's on the sticker under hood...the one with all the option codes

On 991, I've yet to find it...gotta call dealer with VIN

^this. Driver side crumple zone rail under carpet in frunk. It is a permanent type decal and is most reliable, since the hood and owners manual stickers are paper so offen fade, and/or go missing.

Gaslid didnt start til the 997, if the PDI was done correctly, one sticker was put in the maintaince/owners manual. The other is on the drivers side frame horn in the front tub area.

Default It’s in the frunk on some 996’s

My owners manual said it’s in the frunk. It didn’t have it in the gas cap. See pics
