Default IN THE SHOP | Porsche 996 Carrera X-51 w/ Fabspeed Performance Package

This wonderful 996 Carrera X-51 came in to the shop today to complete the installation of a full Fabspeed Performance Package. This car is now equipped with the following Fabspeed performance products:

• Fabspeed Motorsport Maxflo Performance Exhaust w/ Deluxe Quad-Style Tips
• Fabspeed Motorsport Sport Headers
• Fabspeed Motorsport Sportcat X-Pipe w/ 200-cell HJS Sport Catalytic Converters
• Fabspeed Motorsport Carbon Fiber Competition Intake System
• EVOMSit ECU Tune

After the install was complete, the car was dyno tested and put out 315 horsepower at the wheels, which makes for a great sounding and running 996!

This looks to be a 40th AE which with the X51 is rated at 345hp, what was it pre upgrades?

It's a sweet setup, but a "before" pull would sure be helpful when evaluating such a pricey package.

I wanna see a factory 40AE put down 262whp on a dyno.

262.5 * 1.20 = 315HP, just to be clear that claiming 20% gains over factory setup means the factory setup makes 262 horsepower, which is maybe believable for WHP of a stock 3.4L, but I don't believe it for a stock x51.

+1. This is useless data without a benchmark "before" run.

I've seen about 40 factory X51 3.6 cars for IMSR processes, each is dynoed post- process. They average 289-302 RWHP on my dynojet in stock form.

i have run my 40th AE against more than one 3.4 and or non x51 3.6 and in every instance and along till let up it was not even close. I have been meaning to add 200 cel cats to mine so, I would love to see a before and compare to that after especially on a car with only 28k miles on it should pull very sting stock.

If your AE with 345HP didn't mop the floor with a 3.4 rated at 296HP, I wouldn't blame the car.

From personal experience with issues installing these systems and having to service them after the sale make sure you do your research before buying FabSpeed products. There product and their after-sales leave alot to be desired.

I have this Fabspeed on my 996 and think it's great. What maintenance are you referring to?

I notice the dyno test shut down at 6800rpm while still on the climb. Isn't redline 7200 on the 40th x51?

I did not run a pre-dyno due to time constraints with the customer who came from NY for the install. I was not posting the graph as a basis for comparison, I just thought that it was a nice piece to see a well running 996. The graph posted above by Halik was on an engine with 1,500 miles and the graph was STD smoothed FWIW.

Wish I had more time so that I could have run a pre dyno, even at that I had to do the post dyno on a different day when the customer came back for the intake.
