Default Are 996 with aero kits rare?

It was a must for me to get a 996 with an aero kit and fortunately I found mine quick, I only waited like 3 months. I have a buddy who is looking for a red 996 with factory aero and he is having a hard time...

Sometimes I help him look on sites and to be honest for every 15 996's I see, only one or maybe two have them.

When i was looking for my car it took me almost 6 months as i was specifically looking for a mkII in speed yellow with the aero. So yeah i believe factory aero's are pretty rare specially if you are looking for a specific color.

When I was looking, I would say only 15% were only available at the time. And most of the 15% were '99 models. I don't know how many they made and shipped to the US. Would be nice if someone knew that info. I ended up getting a regular version and painfully assembled and pieced together my own OEM aero kit fortunuately or unfortunately.

I see plenty of 996's (in SoCal, Porsches are everywhere) - but only a few aero. My kit is OEM, added by the previous owner. If you parked an aero and a non-aero side-by-side, most folks would probably think they were different models entirely.

to make sure aero kit is factory (and not AM), look for code XAA

P.S. FWIW, mine is full aero by Techart (front lip, side skirts, rear winglets and rear spoiler) and grateful that I did NOT have to pay for it

I have a XAA factory red car, it also has hard back sports seats in red and a carbon fiber center console. It has 74,xxx, will sell for the right price if he is interested. PM me for additional details. New suspension, bilstein coil overs H&R sports shocks, TRG sway bar, etc, etc.

Don't want to sell as I only have had her for a bit over a month, but if the offer is strong enough I may consider.
What is is price range and mileage requirements?

Porsche-t, DON'T DO IT!!! Your car is absolutely stunning. The white/black combo really works on the MK1-aero. I am obviously biased, but I have seen very few white aeros over the years. You would be hard pressed to find any car that looked nicer than the one you have.

Totally agree. Of my 4 Porsches my favorite is my 996 Aero. However, the only thing that gets me more envious is Porsche-t's white aero. Probably the best looking car I have seen in a long time. The Mk1 headlights are perfect with the aero.

I am not sure what his budget is but I know he was very interested in a red one that was recently being sold here for 19k and it had around 80k miles if I recall correctly. If you guys are interested in selling, send me some pictures, mileage, details & price to pakiri.pr@gmail.com, I will foward this to him.

thanks!
