How about this one? No records available and came from Texas. Carfax shows it started out in Florida and was sold CPO in 2004 about one year after is was first titled. Has anyone here looked at this one already by chance?
I just bought it, my first porker. I checked it over really closely and it is a pretty honest 2003 57k car. I will post pix once I have had a bit more time with it.
Congrats kon5t! We spent some time looking at it and talking to Dick about the car, but in the end, decided to keep looking. Looking forward to hearing more about it!

Oh man I haven't slept in a week, I wasn't going to buy a car, but then I saw this. I have walked past Dick's for 3 years and never seen anything I had to have, until this. I was supposed to pick it up this morning but the AOS didn't arrive in time, so I have one more evening without (sleep) car.
But that is just giving me more time to get infatuated with a new forum, full of new people :-)

Looks like it has a saggy left tailpipe. Could need adjustment and/or motor mounts.
I think the 996 looks a little too smooth with out the aero kit. The kit gives just enough aggressive lines to the overall look of the car.
So, yes I wanted a 996 with an aero kit. AND, I did not want it in red, silver, or black. My 2000 is a Ocean Metallic Blue. I'm told that was a one year only color option. (please correct me if you have other info.) I love the way light reflects off it.
Not rare, but there are a crapload of non-aero 996's. I love the aero. Plain-jane 996's are still awesome cars, but the aero looks the part of "childhood dream fulfilled."
Non-aero: I'm a successful guy with an awesome car.
Aero: In my head, I'm a superhero.

Thanks for pointing that out, I am going to be doing a few maintenance things to it, there are a few points I have noticed that need some tlc. I got a good price on the car, it is 12 years old with nearly 60k and I expect some things to need doing.

I'm still considering a MKII aero 996. I'm interested in factory installed aero kits including the turbo aerokit on a 4S. I too want to be a superhero.
I got a thumbs-up driving a buddy's 914 in to work today - but in my MK1 996 w/ MKII wing, people have literally stopped their cars in the street to tell me how much they like my 911. One of my favorite "nice car" stories was a guy who thanked me for having "a man's Porsche."
It also attracts a fair number of old dudes who invariably launch into the "I had an old 911back in ____...sure wish I hadn't sold it..." story.
