Default Gas pedal failure

I managed to some how break my 911 in less than 12 hours of owning it. I went for a cruise last night as I was getting on it I lost throttle response, pressed on the gas pedal and nothing. I checked the assembly and found that the little lever that has the boot on it collapsed into the assembly and was loose. Luckily it happened a few blocks away from my house, got it towed back to the house with the help of a friend. I've managed to be a able to take apart the gas pedal assembly, but I cannot put it back together for the life of me. I've been searching past threads as some people have been taking them apart to clean them and have no trouble putting them back together. The gas pedal assembly is the throttle by cable one the non e-gas. Does any one have suggestions or diagrams that can help me out? I am really bummed out right now that I can't drive my pcar.

Take a look at these instructions for an aftermarket pedal. There are some decent pictures that may help. http://www.gsrautosport.com/pedal_in...tructions.html

The design is so stupid that a 6th grader who made one in shop class would flunk.. Just daffy.. But amazingly they are not a constant source of anguish...

So it is what it is... You can replace with something after market.. Or just replace with OEM. Three cars, several hundred of track days. One broke - but that one I was hitting with my heel at a hard & strange angle because I had disabled brake boost..

Its a cheap part.

There should be an illustration out there I used it to determine if could change mine out. I did so few years ago.

Thanks guys those past threads have helped a lot, but for some reason I can't get the pedal case to fully close. I also suspect that the throttle cable might be messed up since there is a lot of slack in it. At this point my body is sore all over from being on my knees underneath the dash for a few hours I'm gonna call it quits on this one. I was able to find a local Pcar mechanic through word of mouth I called him today expecting to leave a message, but to my surprise answered his phone! Unfortunately he will not have a chance to look at the car til Wednesday. I'm really bummed out that I wasn't able to drive the car more before this happened. This is my first Porsche I can see now why some people are obsessed with these cars.

Finally got the car back from the mechanic it ended up being the throttle cable that came loose. The cable is in two pieces that meet together that is where it came loose. He was able to put everything back together without using new parts.

You say 'he managed to put it back together', Did you ask him 'why did it come apart in the first place?"... If he used the old parts then it's going to come apart again. I should imagine.

Mechanic said that where the two ends meet I think its called a coupler it looks like it has been previously messed with in that it had zip ties on it. I didn't really ask him after that in detail how he managed to fix it I was just happy that I didn't have to wait for parts and I got the car back.
