Default Took a drive to Mt.Lemmon today...

And it proved to be a definitive surprise of AZ. 27 miles of epic turns, scenery, and unbelievable change of flora in a very short period of time. Took me 150 boring miles to get to the base of the Catalina road, but it was so worth it. This road is definitely up there with Stelvio Pass and Transfăgărășan.

Enjoy the pictures.

Nice pictures! The pictures reminds me of 1997 December when I drove that road. It started snowing heavily on the way up on the mountain and there were cops telling folks without chains and 4wd to not proceed. Once the snow stopped, we saw a spectacular sunset on the way down.

That's a great drive (like you said...once you get there). We used to go up to Summerhaven at the top. There was a restaurant that had great pies. All burned down in a forest fire a few years ago. Has anything being rebuilt?

^^ It looked like everything was rebuilt Gonzo, all cottages at the top looked very fresh. I was at the top at almost 8pm, so restaurant was closed.

I went to Pima Museum on the Memorial Day weekend. Seemed very fitting. Here are some pics, I didn't want to start a new thread for it.

Oh, man, I'm already aroused due to the carbon fiber intake thread, and then you post an SR-71 shot.
