Default Cost to replace shocks, strut mounts?

1999 carrera 4 cab. Car is at the mechanic getting final inspection. Shock mounts bad and shocks recommended to be changed. He said he can do it all for about $1200. That's $1000 in parts and $200 labor. He said is only takes 3-4 hours to do.

This seem toor cheap?

The shop is in Mexico? Does sound very cheap but maybe he's a super wrench and can do it in 2hrs.

My mechanic quoted $700 just in labor to install my ROW M030 kit. If you're replacing shocks and struts, I'd highly recommend the ROW M030 kit, lowers the front by about an inch, and just a bit in the rear. Similar feel to the stock suspension, but much more level in corners.

Once I knew what I was doing I could get a rear shock removed and a new one in in about an hour, might be a reasonable quote if you're just replacing the rear shocks and not the front struts.

I did the RowM030 last yr at 60k miles. The least expensive option compared to other set ups. Very pleased overall. Lowered front 1" and rear 1/2". Car handles solidly and front end float gone. Parts were about $1300 - struts, springs, sway bars and bushings. Labor was 6 hours w/ a good alignment - about $1k. Well worth the investment on my '04 C2Cab.
The quote you have seems low considering all that needs to be done. At best it would be 1 hr. / wheel and alignment.
also, what parts are being used to replace old suspension?

Related question guys: I'm unfamiliar with the Row stuff...is anybody using H&R springs and Billie Sport shocks? I have a leaky shock and will be looking at something soon.
I have experience with that setup only...

These are for the front. He quoted using bilstein shocks and oem strut mounts. Does not include alignment. I think he got the prices wrong. He charged about $200 each for the strut mounts and $500 for the shocks. I think he meant $500 per shock. But was firm with only about 3 hours labor. He said he just did a set this week.
