Question Large rear tires

What's the widest wheel/ tire combo that can safely be put on a 996 C2 narrow body? Thanks in advance...........

You can run a 315/30/18 tire on an 11" wide wheel without any rubbing, even on a lower-than-stock car.

Really !? With stock offset? I thought my 295's we're pushing it.

I run the same as G.T. on my 996GT3 NB, no problem. don't know if my offset is different but it's quite doable with the correct offset.

Whether you need that width is another question, it's been reported by several GT3 drivers that with the Nitto NT-01's the 305's work better than the 315's.

Correct. Wider isn't always better (or faster). I use the 315s simply because I got a good deal on them. Next set will be 295s. So don't go changing those Neovas just yet, sandersd.

NT-01 305's work better? They are way taller then the 315's and they would be rubbing my fenders if I ran them on the C4S with H&R lowering springs and stock 11" wheels.

I can't imagine having tires larger than the ones on now.

Wow, I can't imagine 315's on my car. I had 295/30 - 18 Hanhook V12's and they filled wheel well pretty good. Granted my Victor Innsbruck's are using an aggressive offset but even stock rims seems hard to imagine. If anyone has pictures of their car on 315's I would like see that.

I have GT3 Specs wheels and tires (295/30/18) on my MY00 C2 cab, perfect fit without rubbing. The offsets are perfect and I can't imagine a need for wider tires than that.

I'm running 19's, but I don't have the specs handy. I'll post the details when I get home tonight.

It is. Not as low as I'd like but it's most definitely not at stock ride height.

305 NT-01s? Those are 35s not 30s

Miami, I run 235 / 315 nittos when I track. They look mean and the grip is outstanding. They also make this awesome buzzing sound at speed.

I have 295s on 19" wheels on my 2002 C2. It has standard-height suspension, but the tires were installed by a previous owner, so I can't speak to fender rolling being done.
