I cant seem to find a thread on this but, long story short, my 2004 Carrera has a driver's side mirror that has fallen off the backing. I have a replacement part in hand but no clue how to go about replacing it. Can I simply pop the old one out with a flathead screwdriver and plug in the new unit in? Any helpful instructions would be great.

 

I seem to remember somewhere reading that the mirror pops out with a steady hard pull. I think it was over on the RennTech forum. I don't think you want to run the risk of housing damage with a flathead screwdriver trying to pry it out. The trick is getting enough grip on the back side of the mirror to pop it out. Good luck!
