Thanks guys! I tracked down the original owner and asked him what was up with it. He bought it new and paid dealer prices for an engine that self destructed just out of warranty. That second motor blew up about 30K later and he refused to pay for another engine so he sold it to a salvage yard for parts. I saw it when it was in the process of getting stripped and said STOP!! So I purchased it like you see it in the first pictures. Basically, no drivetrain, bumpers or lights. I sourced the drive train from Lone Star in Texas. It had a fresh rebuild with new RMS, IMSB, water pump, etc. And of course, while I was in there, i went ahead and did the exhaust hack!

Got a little more work done. Got the 997 short shifter, the Speedlines and the Bilsteins w/TechArt lowering springs installed.

BTW, what size tubing did you go with for the PSE hack? I noticed the tubing is a bit notched to clear the muffler clamps.

I originally had planned to use 1 3/4" but it was too big so I went with 1 5/8". The pipe isn't notched (kind of looks that way in the picture, but it isn't) but it clears on both sides by the width of a business card! Sounds great though!

Thanks guys! The wheels are true Speedlines and I got a really good deal on them and the lowering springs as a package deal. I have about 250 miles on it so far and I have to say I love it. I have had 15+ older 911s over the years but this is the first water cooled model. Loving the power and the torque and I havent even gone over 5K RPMs yet! But the biggest diference so far was today. It was a bit chilly this morning and I reached over and turned the heat on and to my surprise I had HEAT! Not smelly air cooled fan blowed over exhaust hot air, but actually coolant heated air!! WOW! And I have cup holders!!
