I have a sunroof delete 2003 with a rattle at the rear where the headliner meets the rear window. From my reading it seems I just get to stick some felt or double sides sift tape stuff or whatever to stop it.
Does anybody have any tips, tricks or whatever to make sure it's sorted first time.
Cheers.

There are a few threads out that address this issue. Mine rattles to but I just ignore it.
Not sure of the design differences between the 996 and 987, but I just had to repair mine in my Cayman. It was actually replaced once under warranty a couple of years ago too. Surprisingly, there are several plastic finned spacers that are glued to the inside of the headliner. These spacers came loose and were vibrating on the semi-rigid headliner itself. Not the roof. Was super annoying. The only way to fix it was to take it out and reglue the plastic pieces to the headliner. Now the car is quieter. It actually is much quieter; those plastic pieces glued to the headliner must really help dampen the sound waves!
Thanks for the replies. I'll find something today at the hardware shop and post a picture or two and report my success. Funny thing is after wriggling it around last night driving the noises all but disappeared which was great giving me the extra motivation to try and permanently fix it.
Solved it. 500mm of the black medium density right angle rubber foam you would put on the edge of something for protection. Jammed in the trailing edge of the roof liner. Just far enough not to see it but not too deep to disappear from fingers. In the middle there is something stopping it going to far in. First drive over the rattle road to my night gig and it was perfect. No more noisy rattle that made my $30k car sound like a $300 kit car.
I'll try and get an decent photo for future reference.
sorry got caught up with life. Here is the stuff i wedged between the rear window and head liner. You can see it but is is just behind the edge of the headliner. Its made of soft foamy stuff, bit denser than a kids soft foam ball.
