Result of filter inspection. 1 speck only. Felt like I was panning for gold. Name: image-1969271618.jpg

A bit thin in the plot department, but overall a good story.

getting ready for a long road trip so thought I would do it before rather than after. Already had 4000kms' on the old oil. Re-filled with Motul 300V 5W-40. Immediate change in sound of engine sound. I would dare to say a little bit quieter but no evidence to back up my feeling. Let's see how it goes...

Hope its not predicting the future. Be careful on your trip and dont forget the required tool and transport truck. Just kidding because some on here are very hesitant to stray far from home.

Change in sound normal as the fresh oil is more viscous -- obviously not contaminated with unburned fuel and water (combustion byproducts) -- than the oil just drained so the engine is a bit quieter with fresh oil.

Relax.

You should probably try to change the oil more often. 60000KM (37,282 miles) is a little long.
