Default 295's do fit

Was worried about squeezing 295x35x18 on my NB Mk2. They fit great and fill out the guards nicely and also 245x40x18 up front. Fit nicely no rubbing etc. Stock suspension.

What brand and model are those tires? Not all 295s are the same width.

Let us know how it rides long term and if you have any speed distortion. Factory spec on C2 is 285/30/R18, so your car is riding on taller tires. You are about 17.75mm higher off the ground in the rear, and about 8MM higher off the ground in the front.

By the look of the tires they are the winter Michelin Aplin tires.

Edit: Also, test your headlights before heading out to make sure they are still pointing high enough. Most likely you will have to adjust them up a bit as the car is now higher off the ground in the rear.

Good points. Thanks.
Yes they are Alpins. PA2's
I checked the speed against my gps and the speedo shows 3km/H slower than gps so happy about that.
Can't wait to get into the snow a bit in a few days. 1800km round trip road trip in a few days.

FWIW, 255 front and 305 rear hoosiers will fit on the stock wheel/suspension...but it's tight.

Yep, 2nd number is correct if using the 265/35/18 tire, I used the factory spec 285/30/18 for my numbers. First one you used the 235, if you use the 245 it will give you the 8mm.

Math is very basic for this. For example on your summer tire 265/35/18; 265 is tread width, 35 is ratio of sidewall height to sidewall width (IE 265*0.35=92.75mm is your tire sidewall height. 92.75/265=0.35), 18 is your rim diameter. So on any tire you can do the basic math for how much higher/lower your car will be based on the numbers.

295 is the width of the tire and not the width of the thread. There is an allowable variance (I think 10%) that the thread can differ (usually smaller) than the number the tire is sold as. A 295 tire from brand A is many times different than from brand B. When you are trying to squeez the maximun under the fender, the brand and model will make a difference. The 928 guys know this very well.

This pretty much agrees with the generic numbers I pulled from Tire Rack.
