For sure it's worth the pittance that is charged. Lots of good advice from friendly people, meet new acquaintances, make new friends, talk shop in the shop, do a PCA parade and never forget it, try a DE and never forget it, meet nice couples that love their Porsches, get invited to parties, lower insurance costs, something the wife enjoys, driving tours and events, Panorama, ...hmmm what else....
