I got a new top on my '99 today and something's not exactly right with my headliner they re-used. Just behind the rear windows I can see the metal frame of the top exposed. I don't remember that before. Is the triangular fabric there supposed to cover the frame? If anyone has a pic can they please send it? If there's a tutorial on re-using the headliner that someone knows of that would be great. Thanks!

 

When I say rear window I mean on the side of the car. My bad. The rear window behind the two big windows in the door.

 

If you don't have a pic will someone just tell me if the headliner covers the frame right behind the triangular side windows behind the main windows?

 

wish I could help you but I have the hard top on now for the winter and I can't remember how the soft top looked in that area. Sorry

 

I can see mine. Top is down right now or I'd take a pic. There is about 1.5-2" of frame visible if I get the right angle while in Driver's seat. I was looking at it the other day when I was chasing leaves in under the back window.

 

Here are two pics of the passenger side from sitting in the driver seat from my 2003. The top is black so there isn't much contrast.

Donking you have a mk2 cab that may have a slightly different headliner from rwii that has a mk1. Rwii - what top did you buy

 

Here's what my '99 with original top looks like inside. I can see a metal piece near the rear side window.
