Default Radio Bezel question

I have my 1999 996 coupe, and as we all know there are no cupholders. Im curious, does anyone know if the 2002 and up radio bezel will fit the older 996, because it has the cupholder slot in the top. I know there are the retrofit kits with the dual cupholders you put in the cd holder slot, but I have removed the stock radio and installed a pioneer double din nav radio in the top 2 slots. So Im just wondering if the bezel from the newer 996 will fit in the older models without too much modification.
Thanks!

I think it should slide in no problem, but I am sure there is someone more qualified to answer than I.

A word of caution, I had cup holders in my 2001 and I removed them. They couldn't hold anything but a soda can. No bottles or anything resealable, which is what you should be using in the car. My coffee tumblers wouldn't even fit.
