Car
I'm looking for a daily driver but I have a beater WRX for when it snows and a garage queen ragtop for perfect days.
Starting point is a 1999 996 coupe with LSD. Since its a DD the driveline, suspension and brakes need to be good. 75k miles is ok if the maintenance has been done. I will add another 50k over the next 5 years so low miles will be short lived. The best roads near me are narrow where a slim 996 will fit nicely. The roads have irregularities too, so 17" wheels and a bit more sidewall are good. I want a manual and 2WD because they are simpler, lighter and are more direct.
The paint and interior don't need to be perfect but rust, dings and tears are out. The AC and heat need to function as do all the bells and whistles. Cats are needed for a sticker in Mass. I won't reject a car because of lots of options but I don't need all leather, aero kit, carbon, power accessories and would rather pay for solid mechanicals. A heated drivers seat would be nice though.
I will install IMS protection if needed. I drive my cars hard but carefully and perform maintenance on the prescribed schedule.
If need be I can replace tires and brakes. I don't want oil and antifreeze puddling on my garage floor so existing leaks are problematic.
Is anyone selling this car? For under $19k?
I started my search on the internet. I've ppi'ed 2 cars from dealers and my faith in used car dealers has gone down.

I'm not currently selling my Porsche, but my car sounds like the one you're looking for. MY99, 6 speed, LSD, C2, 65k miles, complete records, 17" and 18" wheels. Hard to justify selling below $20k for me, knowing that you can't replace it with anything even close for that kind of $.GL with your search.
Keep looking. Your car is out there. You seem pretty specific on your wants, and your budget is low (meaning only early 996's will be within budget), so that is limiting your search criteria, but a car within your specs and budget can probably be found.
Keep looking around here, and over at 6speedonline, as well as the usual outlets. Good Luck.

Found my car on craigslist of all places. 75k mi, heated seats, limited slip, new PZeros, new brakes, 2 owner - second one from 2005+ has all the records, no leaks, ims done, cosmetically nice but the paint isn't perfect. Best of all there is still have $3k left in my Pcar kitty for winter wheels/tires and clear side markers, and ?? I couldn't be happier.
Spotted a 2001 with a Tip and 85K miles (forest green IIRC) being offered for $22.5K on a local dealer's web site.
My brief inspection didn't spot anything of note other than it looks like the front bumper cover has been resprayed as the bumper cover color/tint doesn't quite agree with the color/tint of the adjacent panels, but it is not surprising a 2000 has had a bumper respray maybe even a new bumper cover. As long as that is all the deeper any body panel work has gone that's not a deal killer as far as I'm concerned.
