I had the same problem about a year ago. I just bought a new belt from ebay and changed it. It took about an hour and a half. After changing the buckle, I couldn't get the light to turn off About two weeks later, I was driving and noticed that the light was off. The light has stayed off since then

I like idea, but is it a problem not having that indicator for the state's safety inspection? In Virginia we have annual inspections.

If you get it reprogrammed to bypass the check, the light will still come on when you have the ignition in pos 2. I know some inspection places do this to make sure people aren't pulling their bulbs.
