Why does my tire lose air?

So, out of curiosity, did you determine the culprit? Seems like there's a reasonable consensus of members who thought it might be a crack in the wheel. Did you have a chance to check?

Update:

OK, while airing the tire up I noticed that the vale stem was loose, I could VERY easily turn it by hand.
I tightened it up & viola, no more air loss.
I suppose centrifugal force caused it to allow air to leak out, only thing I can come up with.
