2001 996 C 4 pick up
The plan is to fly to DC , my wife and I , to pick up a C 4 2001. and drive back to central west Fl. via the Blue Ridge Pkwy.
This will take place on the 18th of this month. Will be taking with me a few relays, as back up, and spare belt. Coming back with a full car , with spares and extras, from previous owners.
Here is a pic of my future "new" baby !!!
Shall get more pics during drive south.

That is one very nice looking car - gotta love the Mk1 aeros. Are the aero pieces on the lower rear bumper factory or add ons?
Enjoy the trip. I did a fly out - drive home 2 years ago with my son to pick up his new (to him) 951, and we still talk about that trip. It's a great time to stop by an auto museum or two along the way since you'll be in enthusiast mode. Here's a good one right on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Maggie Valley, NC:

Congrats on your purchase. Remember to stay of the interstates if possible (unless your trying to make time) and enjoy the drive. Pictures are a must We do offer a few different options for drive belts. For more information Click Here.

Those are factory pieces but it seemed like quite a few were dealer installed options after it left the factory as it had luke warm reception from the consumers.
To the casual observer, I do admit that they do look like add-ons as it doesn't seem to integrate and flow the best it can.
I got mine after the fact to install merely to balance out the rear since I didn't want to go aftermarket and wanted to stay period correct OEM.

Awesome!
To be honest, the BRP can get boringly slow after a while. Everyone knows the Tail of the Dragon, but there are a few other less-known, amazing roads along that route.
Check out:
VA 16 - The Back of the Dragon http://backofthedragon.com/
NC 226A - The Diamondback http://diamondbacknc.com/
The restaurant at Little Switzerland is worth that drive alone!
And my favorite, and a real secret - doesn't even have a name:
NC 151 just south of Asheville (seriously - this is the most fun I have ever had in a car, almost)
There are a few others that don't come immediately to mind. Have a great time!

Oh, we know about it all right Also NC176 between tryon and saluda (also just south of Ashville) ... shorter than tail of the dragon but more or less the same drive with virtually no traffic.
