Price check---2002 C4S coupe tiptronic 112000 miles
Hi guys, I am selling my beloved 2002 C4S now finally. I never though that I would sell it only after about 2.5 years ownership. I have bought another 996 TT. I have not parking space for the C4S. What you guys think the right price?
2002 C4S coupe tiptronic transmission with about 112500 miles.
2 SoCal owners car. Engine is running quiet and smooth, never burn any oil during oil changes. transmission is running smooth too. It is bone dry underneath of engine and transmission.
4 tires with 1000 miles. During my ownership, the ims replaced with LN unit. New AOS, New water pump, new front windshield, new filler neck, 997 airbox, matte grey car wrap. new battery one week ago, Very clean grey leather interior. Exterior is factory original Dark blue paint all panels. But with a small dent in the right rear corner. Thanks.

I've been trolling every "used Porsche" site on the internet (eBay motors, auto trader, various classified adds, you name it) for several months. From the info. you have listed, it should sell for upper 20s.

Matte grey car wrap????? 112 thousand miles..Triptronic...That's 3 downers going for the car... If someone offers you $15000, snap their hand off. I don't give a crap what cuda911 saw. Did he miss the fact that the car had a car wrap? Now I can live with the 112000 miles to a point but Triptronic and a car wrap, no way Jose... Hey that's only in my honest opinion.
Wait a minute. you say it has a car wrap then go on to say that the Exterior is factory original Dark blue paint all panels. But with a small dent in the right rear corner. That sounds contradictory to say it has a car wrap. Which is it. Original paint or a car wrap?

Yeah, I did miss the wrap comment... just saw the comment "dark blue paint all panels." I really don't care for the matte finish trend that seems to be so popular these days. If the car is sold to someone wanting to be trendy, Kent may be able to get a premium for the wrap. Like Halik says, however, I think most won't want it. Should be easy enough to remove.
Looks like there are some other "accessories"... wheels, LED, etc. Again, depending on the specifics, they may increase or decrease the car's value.
He's done much of the "concern" items: LN IMSB upgrade, AOS, water pump, tires with only 1K miles. The "small dent" warrants further explanation. If it's the type that one of those "paintless dent repair" places can handle, it's really of little concern (and should be fixed before selling the car).
Based on the limited info. in his post, I still think upper 20s (25K to 28K) is a reasonable selling goal. If you sell if for $15k like mentioned above, you will make someone very, very happy. But that someone won't be you.

The wrap hate is kinda ridiculous given that wraps are removable. I have wrapped two 996's (one turbo and one c4s) and both sold for a premium as a direct result of the wrap.
That said, tiptronic, high miles, and an undesirable factory color are going to be a big problem. Nice well equipped 6speed c4s cars are only going for the high $20's and aren't selling quickly. The market will be pretty small. If you can get anything outside of the teens, I think you'll be lucky.
I wish the op good luck with the sale though.

Thanks guys for the comments, actually, I and all my friends are all like the matte grey wrap very much. I really don't want to remove it before the selling. And the wrap is very easy to remove for the new owner if he does not like it. Good night!

Not sure I agree with dark blue being an "undesirable color". I personally think arctic silver is to the 996 as guards red is to the 80s carrera. Common to the point of being undesirable. As everyone else mentioned tip is a price killer. I think if you have some photography skills or know someone with some a no reserve ebay auction might be the way to go. I have yet to see a car that was well photographed on ebay sell for less than I thought it was worth in a no reserve auction.

How would a potential owner inspect the paint condition underneath? I would think that would be a deal breaker for most.

I think a wrap looks cool on some vehicles. I'd never buy a car with a wrap unless it was cheap enough and I didn't care what the original paint/finish was like.
Wrapping is a cheap way to disguise a car with various issues on the original paint. Not saying yours has issues, you know where I'm coming from.
I'd remove the dent. A dent says much more than "my car has a small dent" when selling.
Often less than pristine "beaters" get wrapped and "customized", serious buyers realize this and generally don't want them. Their appeal is for someone that doesn't have the cash for a perfect stock example and is bottom fishing for a deal.
I love customizing more than the next guy, I do it for a living and I don't make the rules. Just stating the facts. Unless you find that very special buyer, return your car to stock. It will sell easier and be worth more.
Value wise, NADA says a clean example is worth $20K, $16K-$18K for rough to average. Can't see the paint so assuming the worst and with a dent, I'd have to say around $16K- $17K.

Fix the dent! If it is minor, it will be the best $$ you ever spend. Every noticeable cosmetic flaw should be fixed on a car before listing it if it can be done inexpensively. It never fails to amaze me how many cars you see (of all makes) with worn driver's seat left bolsters. That's generally a $200 fix, but the driver's seat is one of the first things a buyer looks at and really turns off a buyer if it's damaged.
