Road trip day 1
The annual father daughter road trip kicked off with a mammoth 1018 mile leg from Northern Colorado to Sparks, NV (Porsche's old US HQ)...
A little tired but impressed that the car can average 78mph while returning 27mpg over the distance which includes half an hour of crawling to get by a head on in a Wyoming construction zone.
Tomorrow continues to the Bay Area, then next week to Central Coast and on to LA and back via the southern route...

Excellent to hear! I have done two long distance road trips, one covering 1300 miles on day one. Like you, although I was tired, I honestly couldn't wait to get back in the seat, and also had the experience of great fuel mileage with an avg speed of 82 mph. A lot more fun to be in the seat and on the road than looking at these cars sitting in the garage. Safe and enjoyable travels to you.

Thanks guys, getting ready to start Day 2. Since I bought the car in NJ and drive it home last year, today will make it complete its coast to coast journey (with an 8month R&R in the middle...). Love driving this car, had 2 troopers turn and pace me for miles yesterday and several compliments at rest stops (uh, about the car, that is!)

Tomorrow heading down towards LA for a couple of days. Heading back home Saturday will be interesting, Las Vegas is forecast to be 117 degrees. That means that my car will have been in temps with a 117 differential in the same year as I recorded a 0 degree drive at the beginning of the year.

I am glad you are having such a wonderful time with your car and the trip. Best of luck, be careful out there....wish I had the time/opportunity to do exactly the same. Maybe someday.....
