Very sorry to hear about your Father, especially so close to Farhers Day. On a lighter note, very happy to hear you will be treating your 996 as it should be. Garaged, clean at all times, well maintained, admired as an artifact, and ready to be used for fun. Good call on your part! Welcome to the common sense faction of 996 owners.

KK: How many miles did you put on your PCar since you bought it last year?
I put on about 10K a year last two years but determined to cut those miles back this year.

I mean, seriously, if you own 4 cars, and you have to leave your car at the Park & Go at the airport, are you really going to drive your nice car and leave it there for the "thrill" of driving it 12 miles on the interstate, so it can be exposed to everything? Sometimes, life just gets in the way. I'm required to use a company vehicle (or rental) for business trips, and I travel a lot for work. (they frown on "profiting" from the mileage rate, which IMHO, is BS) Many are the time I would much rather have been in the 996 on some interesting twisty roads. I'm not saving my car for the next owner, but I do tend to keep my vehicles for at least 8-10 years, so I like it to be nice the whole time I use it.

The maintainance was the 30K service at dealer for $1200, the new water pump, the new alternator, the 45K service. In just 2 short years and 30K miles, maintanance added up. Happy to have her take a rest. Maybe I can do the 60K service in a couple of years instead of next year?
