Soverystout:
Off topic, but I meant to ask: What is 'the First State' as you proclaim as your provenance?
I guess Ma or Va, but please enlighten this Canuck who should know better, having lived in NJ for 3 yrs in the early 80s.
Great memory of the US camaraderie by the way!

Did engine oil change as well and no metal in filter: Happy to report (143K kms, '00 C2).
Added a magnetic plug sold at Pelican for next year's check.
Next years oil change? SAY WHAT?

The oil is already millions of years old, I doubt one year in a car is going to make it expire.

Nothing works as well as the Porsche OEM trans oil. Not sure why but every other brand has poor shifting characteristics when cold (even in summer) compared to the OEM stuff. Once trans is warmed up the other top brands seem to be OK. Not sure if anyone knows why the Porsche stuff works so well but it does. I know Porsche does not have an oil refinery but its hard to get info about the exact process of how its refined differently for the Porsche trans. I think Shell actually refines it, correct?

This is why, the cold viscosity numbers. I am thinking of trying Motul as it is the only one that betters the Shell when cold while maintaining protection when hot. Redline and Mobil 1 are way thicker when cold.

Because of the above comparison chart, I went with Lubro Moly when I recently changed my gear lube. $12.13/L is a great price@ Autohaus. Shifts excellent at all temperatures.
