More top issues
'99 Cab, recently my top was operating slow and I found the hydraulic fluid was low. Fluid was added and everything was fine for a while. Now the top is stuck in the down position. The clam shell will open but that's it. Not even a noise that something is trying to happen?? I think the micro switch isn't making or defective but to check it out the top needs to be up, how do I get the top up? I believe there is a mechanical crank?
Check your owners manual for the procedure to operate the top manually.

I got the top up using the owners manual emergency set up, all but the last part. It was enough to get the top up and access the well, (disconnect the cables, pull the well cover up.) I did notice that the passenger flap had not opened like the driver side. I pulled the flab assembly out to inspect and run a continuity test (motor, and both micro switches)....all checked out so I'm puzzled why the flap didn't open. I also checked the hydraulic pump motor and the other micro switch for continuity..........all good again. Since the clam shell opened I think that motor and cables are good!? How about fuses....where? more than 1? At this point I will re-assemble and head to the dealer and re-program. Feel free throw out some ideas, I'm all ears
check the micro switch on the clamshell actuator. It's right in front of the hydraulic pump, on the top of a black plastic housing with two thick bowden cables coming out of it.
Part #25 on this drawing. It gave me some trouble when I was having issues with my clamshell.

I did check micro switch #25 out for continuity and it was good. Putting some more thought into this, I have a spare flap (passenger side) and it was giving me problems (slow and now not opening) so I'm going to change out the flap, re-assemble and head to the dealer to re-program. The manual highly recommends going to the dealer once you have crossed into the emergency / manual mode. Any tech savy members know of anything else I should check out?
