Here are my stripes. I flip flop between keeping them and removing them.

I had one on my boxster and the new owner took it off. I don't know if i'd put one on again.

CATA19 great looking 996. I would probably leave them on if I had your car.

Do what ever you want to personalize your ride. The script is not my thing, but do whatever you want.

CATA19, your's looks great as it compliments the red/black offset color scheme you have on your 996. The script actually looks like a subtle accent.

Your car, if you like it do it! If you find you tire if it, remove it. If we all loved them all our cars would have them. I've done some pretty strange things to my cars over the years. Some people love it some don't.

I love customizing in general even if I don't personally like what was done, I like the idea of doing it. Just because I don't like a particular piece of art doesn't mean I don't think it has value.

so torn, I like it.. but not sure how much. I think a lot depends on the color of the car... I think on a "look at me color" Red, caution yellow, Orange....

The script to me makes it more 'race car' CATA's car looks VERY race (niiiiiice) If that's what you want go for it! I've seen some nice ones and with the right colour combos I think it looks great!

Stylistically, the script is consistent with your aftermarket wheels.

If you went with a silver wheel on a red car it would probably also work.
Just to break up the red.

I think silver graphics with silver wheels on a red car would look great as well.
But maybe more so the PORSCHE decals than the Carrera script.

It is strictly a matter of personal taste. I had mine put on to pull the speed yellow calipers with the Carrera stripe Sometimes I think about removing it

I hit a large piece of chrome trim which kicked up and deeply scratched the passenger door and lower rear fender. I did not want to repaint both panels so I went the stripe route. Looked out of place at first, but now I like the look and also receive comments to that affect. Each to his own.

What did you end up doing?

I love mine!! I was amazed at how offended some people got. One of the forum guys asked if I was going for "lipstick on a pig"..... I love this forum because we help each other, but, some guys are pretty opinionated.

I was the OP. I still like the look of the stripe, but I decided not to add it to my car. Maybe later this year, when I get the itch to do some sort of mod...

Thanks for letting us know. The good thing is that if you do decide to do it and don't like it, you can always just peel it off.

Take care,

Ray
