Default 996 Quick Data

Here is a nice glovebox reference that was part of the recent PCA Tech Tactics event in PA.

Also a nice preview of the new Bentley 996 manual. Seems like quality stuff!

I have the Bentley for the 996. It seems to leave out a lot of info that you'd think they'd include. Even for simple things. So far not impressed.

X51 package on 40th anniversary package - "Direct Accelerator Pedal Linkage" instead of "e-Gas".

I find this interesting and wonder if it's basically e-Gas with Sprint booster type mod added. There doesn't seem to be too much data on this.

Bentley has very detailed valvetrain / head info but very little bottom end info. Still worth the money.

Bentley is ok, but not worth the money. Seems to leave alot of general service info out

I do think its worth the $100, not more, though. The electrical wiring drawings are.very good, normally hard to find. I agree with the general "how to get this connector off" type stuff is all missing. The whole changing waterpump section is a joke.

That's generally what Haynes Manual is for. Unfortunately, I don't think they have one our cars.

I found Bentley to be more intermediate reference where as something like Haynes was catered more for the amatuer level DIY'ers.

Interesting that it says the 02-05 3.6 has 315 horsepower where every other publication I read states 320. Who is right?

That is interesting, maybe the X51 DME program does change throttle opening rate.
