Considering it's still winter in Colorado and you would need to cross the sierra/rocky mountains, I would first go west and then north. Go through Phoneix, LA and then straight up north. It's a much safer route this time of the year.

I would highly recommend I70 through Colorado/Utah. IMO the most scenic part of any interstate in America. GL

I envy the crap out of you Mark, bought mine from PHX and shipped it back, but LOVE a good break-in road trip with a new car. Enjoy, and take lots of pics!

Mark your trip will be a great time. I hope you have a good camera, good sunglasses and good tunes. Or just listen to the flat six. Maybe you can post some updates as you go.

Im doing a road trip in june from here to edmonton. Should be awesome...all mountain driving with a lot of it in the rockies!
And it is true that youll probably spend more time with the stereo off so you can listen to that awesome engine.

It was 72 degrees here in Fort Collins Colorado this afternoon. NO SNOW ISSUES on your route through CO for sure.... Looks like you are taking I80 until I25. Instead, at Laramie, WY take the US287 cutoff to Fort Collins. Staying on 80 to Cheyenne and then South on I25 is boring. 287 from Laramie to Fort Collins is a great high speed road and actually cuts some time off. Then connect with I25 South in Fort Collins. If you are here Saturday and need anything look me up. Sunday we are flying out for a week...If you're later than that and your car needs anything, look up Poudre Sports Car here in town, they will fix you up well. Have a great drive, I did it from NJ to here last year, wonderful way to get to know the car!

Have fun! And yeah, go the speed limit in Oregon, they really like to enforce that 55mph speed limit.

I hit Seatac at 11AM. Had lunch, went over the car, pluggeg in MP3 cable and split about 2:00. Made it 450 miles to Ontario, OR. God - that 65 really is oppressive. Tucked away for the night and will head out about 5AM.

A couple pics at La Grande pass in OR. What an awesome car. I sold my 993 C4S about 3 years ago and really missed driving a Porsche.

Love the dark red color. Congrats on your purchase; nothing quite like that inaugural road trip to get to know a car. I recently drove from Little Rock, AR, to Des Moines, IA, with our "new" C2 Cab. It was great fun, albeit MUCH shorter than your trip.

Great photos, too!

Great to hear your trip went well and the 996 like a top. Maybe you can bring it out to cars and coffee on the 6th.
