I'm with you - I don't exactly know why, but my Corvette would never be my DD.

I like the power the C5 puts down, and it does look good from the back, but the side view is kind of...melted. My C4 isn't a beauty queen, either - I think the C6 was the best looking Corvette since the split-window Stingrays.

My C7 has been to the dealer 5 times already for random stuff and i dont even DD it. Last weekend i put in the longer bolts so it took the ride hight down 2" in the back and 2 1/2 in the front and its still very comfortable to drive. It looks bitchin but the pcar is still my 1st choice for a DD.

Really sad!!

Just out of curiosity, could that car (before…) ever be registered in CA?

If following the proper procedures required by CARB, yes 996 LS swaps can be CA legal.

Damn! Do you know if it was a younger lad and if he's ever had experience driving high hp rear drive, rearward weight biased cars before?

35, pilot and had some high powered cars. He owned the LS1 996 for almost 2 years, so it's safe to say that he was well acquainted with the car.

here's a video of it after he changed the exhaust and got the throttle issues sorted out.

Skip to 1:15 if you want to hear the sound.
