settling the issue and not offering to fix the current cars which have not failed yet..
pretty lame.

At least they are taking care of their customer who paid big $ for the car... Better late than sorry but a shame for porsche to not have stepped up to the plate when they should have had.

Bummer! The cut off is 130K miles. My Boxster has over double that miles.

I thought PCNA told us there were no problems with IMS/RMS?

Holy cow:
So, if you replaced the IMS (with the LN Upgrade) as a preventative measure, BUT suffered no damage (other than expense of the parts labor)....you are not a class member??? If your vin does not appear you are not a class member???

slightly off topic, but the GT3/RS coolant lines "issue" and CL wheels "issue" should wind-up headed down this road, I would think.........

The worst is if you find your VIN ... hence you have a reason to worry BUT you have not had the problem yet.

So no payment for you, but you can pretty much wait for it...

This is almost if not more frustrating.

NOTE TO PORSCHE: Step it up and offer a PREVENTIVE measure as well ! Then you'll buy my loyalty again.

Looks like owners north of the border are SOL!
Does this ruling only apply to USA registered cars.
I have a relative that just paid out over $15k for an engine after months of negotiating with Porsche.

I just went on the court docket for the case - the parties are required to submit the settlement papers to the court for approval tomorrow (class actions require court approval for settlements). We should then know exactly how this will work (eg deadlines and procedures for submitting a claim).

So if your VIn is lot listed in the range, does that mean your car was not affected by the IMS issue.

Because they're listing vehicles that may have already experienced the issue in the past.

I wonder if the VIN numbers listed are the only ones with the inferior smaller single row IMS.

I'm thinking more for us '01 owners that wonder whether ours is single or double row since that was around when they transitioned mid-year to the single row. Hmmm....

As others have said, unfortunately this doesn't cover preventative maintenance in the form of upgraded IMS that many have already done.

Subscribed either way to see how this plays out in the end and to get owners comments on their experiences with this whole process. I'm sure there will be good and bad ones.
