Have you installed a CB in your 996 coupe ??

Bumping this thread as I'm looking to install a cb/scanner setup in my 996 coupe.
What antenna setups are you P cars running?
I like OP's idea of removing the bumperettes and installing the antenna there but the pic below (Cannonball Run 75') is a tempting setup as well.

all the controls in the mike, I had a similar unit a long time back in my jeep it was great cause it hid under my console and at the time you could buy a extension cable to put the plug in a discreet location. Drop teh mike in the door pocket when you don't need it.. I dont know how good these new ones are mad though.. .

What's the ideal path to route the antenna to the roof/rear?
After reading this necro-bumped thread, I bought a handheld CB (Midland 75-822 + Cobra mag mount antenna). My drive to town is 75% without cell coverage but fairly regular traffic of log/dump trucks w/ CBs. I figure this a good backup comms solution.

For routing from the rear I'd follow this this guide on routing wires for a backup camera, they seem to follow a very similar path. Installing backup camera - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums
From the roof the only option I've seen is through the sunroof then run it under the headliner and down the A column, similar to a rearview mirror mounted radar detector, I don't have a guide handy for that though sorry.
