Agreed. Could be a parted rod, but much more likely d-chunk cased the rod to fail. BTDT...

Yeah we never heard why the plugs needed to be changed in such a awkward position.

Asked shop about CEL error and suggested coil pack and plug change to see if it fixed. swiched dist cables between 5&6 to see if error code moved to cyl 5. Only jacked up one side to do work.

I'm summing it up to bad day. Problem was in the works. Compression check may have shown more. live and learn. May get compression tool for future use.

JM, Im sorry, but I was just joking about lifting car. Mine spends a lot of time on jack stands and the engine hasnt blown up yet.

Did you really mean switching the CABLES 5 and 6 (cable 5 plug to plug 6 and vice versa)??? Or you meant switching the coils 5 and 6?

I have a very difficult time believing that this happened at idle without any warning? Something doesn't add up.
