Replacing cdr-210
Just ordered a replacement for the stock stereo. Crutchfield says I will have to run a wire to the fuse box so it comes on and goes off with the ignition. Anyone have any experience with that? If I don't run that wire will it just not go off unless I turn off the power switch to the radio or will it not work at all?
Sorry if this has been discussed to death, I searched but couldn't find this issue.

I tapped into the telephone prep connector wiring for mine as was suggested by many others...you should find a plug in the bottom of your console..

That's what I was expecting but the guy on the phone went out of his way to point this issue out. Guess I will find out when it comes. It will either work or it won't.

I have a 1999 as well.
Your current deck already has switched power going to it (otherwise, how would it be powering up?). Crutchfield should be providing the proper harnesses for it, in which case it is as simple as matching wire to appropriate wire.
For reference, I installed this unit here.

What radio did you get? Did you remember to do something about the little switch that causes the alarm to beep if the radio is removed?
