Default Anyone have Radio on top?

I've always thought about locating the Radio at the very top followed by the climate control beneath it as those are the ones that I use most and want at close to eye site as possible.

Is anyone running this configuration?

I'm about to move climate to the bottom and do a double din touch screen up top for nav and music, I think it's a pretty cool looking setup with nice flat screen and climate is still easy to control, it's really personal preference right? nice to have options.

If I had double din, I would probably do the same but I'm looking to do radio followed by hvac, both in the top sections.

I have radio on top and climate control on bottom, separated by cubbies.

Standard configuration for 2001 is cupholder, radio, cassette or CD holder (usually replaced with open cubby as I did) and HVAC at bottom. For 1999-2000, it was a little different (HVAC, radio, CD or cassette holder and I think open cubby on bottom). No cupholders until 2001.

I don't think you can put the radio on top because that spot seems too thick (top to bottom) for the radio. I think the best you can do is HVAC, then radio, then two cubbies.

See photo in this post.

BTW, what single DIN radio do you have?

Thanks, I do see in the pic that the radio below the HVAC has some sort of trim piece so I suppose if you removed or trimmed this, you might be able to squeeze the HVAC in the second slot even with the added height over a standard DIN opening.

Radio was a new Eclipse I got a few years ago. Still had iPod/USB/Bluetooth/Auto EQ/Time Alignment. Basically all the SQ without the frills and big screen doo dads.
