Default Inexpensive Porsche

I recently bought an inexpensive Porsche 996. Lots of posters wanted to know where all the cheap one are hiding. Found this on Craigslist. If its truly a clean title car, it could be a great deal. No affiliation. Just thought I would pass it on.

Title seems a bit misleading to me as the cost of repairing it could bring you inline with a good example and without the accident history.

This might only be good for someone that knows how to do their own bodywork and mechanicals, IMHO.

It says right in the ad that it has a clean title.

Good point, I seem to read CG ads like everyone else, first word, price and last word. Let us know how the fix comes along.

LOL, I think you read Rennlist posts like CL posts too based on your response. PS: I'm not buying this or fixing it.

A wrecked 1999 996 for $14K doesn't sound like a very good deal to me...

+996
Mine was fairly clean with the same miles and extra set of rims for $20K.

From what I can see (and only see):

1) New rear passenger-side quarter panel (will need to be cut out and welded in).
2) New rear bumper.
3) New rear decklid.
4) New passenger-side door airbag.
5) Refurbish passenger-side door.

This is way over $4-6k in R&R (at which point you can generally get a below-average to average '99 with similar mileage).

Two weeks ago Autotrader had a newer Cab, for less money, and no need for body repair.
996 prices are all over the map during winter. With more 997's coming on the used lot (from those moving into 991) even more volatile pricing for 996 will be seen. Interest rates are simply too low for CPO and in-warranty used cars.
