I sprayed my wheels with PlastiDip today, look at before and after pics

I am pretty fussy with the car and I'm really amazed with the results. They look professionally done or like they came painted like this. The product stays kind of rubbery to the touch for the first few days but now is pretty hard and has a textured feel to the touch. It rained today so they are pretty dirty. From what I understand wash as normal and dry off with a micro fiber rag so no lint sticks to the matte finish. So far so good, I think the car looks a bit more aggressive with the matte finish black wheels.

They look amazingly better, I think! Very stealth, looks like a flat black pro paint job.
Will that stuff get shiny if you get tire conditioner on it, etc?

Looks awesome, I will be doing the same to the set of 17 twists.....btw....I have seen some guys use the plasti dip as a "primer".....and then use wheel paint on top of it with very good results....

I was looking at some of the videos on painting wheels with PlastiDip I thought this video was really interesting... don't even have to mask off the tire. Appears to have a poor bond to the rubber. I think I will apply it to the outside of the wheel and leave the inside finish untouched so I can attach wheel weights. I might try this on some track rims, wonder what the heat will do. Only one way to find out.
And six month after application.

I'm curious how durable this is as well. I have a 40th AE edition with the silver grills in the front. I painted them black on my car (took off bumper, cleaned the grills and prepped them) with krylon paint designed for plastics. Well, less than 1k miles on it, and you can see it getting sandblasted already.
At any rate, that's what I did on the color keyed mud flaps on my truck 5 years and 75K miles ago. Even though I spend a lot of time off road, and on gravel ranch roads there are no chips in the paint on the flaps. Amazing stuff when painting plastic.
Sorry for the hijack.

Did it on my E36. Seemed to hold up fine.
I dislike silver lipped wheels with black centers, looks cheesy IMO. Although I love satin black wheels, odd thing is I'm planning on going with a bright (close to white) silver color on my Speed Yellow. I have 5 cans of plasti dip sitting around though, so I may see how I like black first (it peels right off anyway)
My only gripe with the plasti dip, is you have to be careful what kind of material you use when you wipe them clean. The texture of them likes to pull of a bunch of fibers from some types of cloth.

Thank you! I'm thinking about doing the same to my summer Carrera 5 spokes.
To anyone planning to do this, keep in mind that it looks absolutely horrible as the first coats are going on and you'll swear that you're making the worst mistake of your life, but the Plasti-Dip dries with a much better texture than it would at first appear.
