Just purchased 2000 996 C2 with 53000 miles, PPI reported no indication of IMS leak/failure. Wow what a car...

Mine...2000 C2 with 65000 K and all original......need to replace clutch and it was recommended that the flywheel should be replaced with the clutch....will do the LN ceramic bearing upgrade and RMS at the same time.....

2004 996 Cab - 84K miles, 3rd owner; no problem

Local independent Porsche specialist advised against a proactive replacement..... except when comes time to replace clutch, then should do it then.

2003 C4S, bought from 2nd owner at 73k miles.
Did LN ims upgrade at Flinkworks in Campbell.
Slight rms moisture, but orig ims was fine when removed.
i was doing new clutch and rms anyways, so happy to spend $650 for the ims upgrade for peace of mind.

99 C2 with 89k miles.
replaced the IMS bearing with ceramic upgrade when my clutch needed replacement. The original IMS bearing was very loose; mechanic said it may have gone another 5000 miles before grenading! Close call

My 99 had a new engine at 84K miles due to ims issue. LN upgrade done at that time. I am amazed what a great car it is. I thought I would drive my 91 cab forever but this car won me over. Kept cab for weekend use.

Default IMSB

No, 52k miles. Crankshaft bearing failure. Resulting in engine rebuild and new IMSB at the same time. Old was OK. Should get back next week. P

Cool

30k on '99 C2. Purchased in June 2013, two previous owners. Clean with independent PPI and dealer inspection. No IMS issues or oil leaks. Life is good.

1999 C2 with 70,000 miles and no IMS issues, clean filter and no visible leaks. I'm not worried.

Just removed IMS (Since I needed to do RMS and oil cooler water o-rings anyway) in my '02 with 63K miles - looked fine. LNE in there now - so hopefully good to go for another 10 years !

Default IMS

99 with 42000 miles, many on track with no problem. How much are people paying for the replacement installed.I already did the RMS and thought I was done.
