Calling ALL IMS failures (check In)
Is there a thread on IMS failure tracking? If so could someone share the link. If not Maybe this could start.
2003 C4S 70,000mi. one owner at 45mph, didn't try a restart, knew what it was. Never tracked. was stored for 3 months about 7 months before failure.

This is BS. How did the guy "know what it was" without getting down to the actual bearing to inspect for failure? We recently had a VERY experienced Porsche owner here who thought his was on it's way out, and did the same thing. Flat bedded it to his indy and it was a faulty water pump and some roller bearings...making a terrible sound. If he did what your PO did, he would have shut it down, and sold it to you as a roller.
