Default 2004 C4s Cab for sale - Seal Gray - low miles/new engine

I know, I know... yes, I just got the car in May. However, I really don't enjoy it very much so am selling it. Some time I may post a longer post about my overall Porsche experience but, in short, I wish I had waited for a different color. I just don't like it. Does not thrill me. I like black cars and should have waited for one. However, I have babied it and broken the new engine in carefully. Oh well.... Yes, my Porsche experience was also tainted by my IMS problem. I may buy a black hard top, 997, in a year or two but for now I am selling my seal gray 996 cab. On CL now and will put on autotrader or cars this weekend.

Can you share what the cost of the long block was, if it was listed on the invoice? And the labor for R&R of the long block?

I do not believe they listed the cost. I think they said it would have been $20k or $21k. Labor was around $3,500 for the engine.

Considering the market I think you are a high on your asking price. Thats turbo money as they say, but I wish you the best of luck with the sale. Its a great looking car.

I read your post on your experience with this car. Luckily Porsche stepped up. Hopefully you will find "The One" in the future. The plate is very apt.

GLWS!

A turbo with a new engine? Wow, I didn't realize the market was that soft. Thanks.

Supposely replacement engines from about 2006 on come with the updated larger, but not easily replaceable, IMS bearing.

I agree with Down South it will most likely have the larger single row bearing that cannot be replaced without disassembling the engine. However thats not really as big of an issue here and this bearing is better than the original single row. The new engine will not increase the value as much as you might think on the open market. Thats just the way things are out there. However the car looks really nice so you should get a premium for that.
