Hi,

I am in need of a 996tt 6-speed axle and was wondering if they were interchangeable with any other models? It doesn't seem like it is since they all have different part numbers but I figure it would be worth asking.

Based on my experience when my 03 Turbo's 6-speed was replaced under warranty due to a seal leak the standard 6-speed and the Turbo 6-speed are not interchangeable.

While the 996 6-speed may bolt right up to the Turbo block and the Turbo transmission mounts it is not the same internally. The techs told me the two transmissions share some parts (seals for instance) but they are in other ways different.

I believe GT2 & 997tt is your only hope. NA 996 is a different bellhousing bolt pattern. GT2 is nearly identical except for harder (steel?) syncro's. Gear ratios may be different.

I'm pretty sure the C4S uses the same axles as the turbo front and rear.

Sorry that is wrong - the C4S uses the same axle (6 speed) as the narrow body 996 normally aspirated cars.

996 axles (6 speed) are different than the 996TT (6 speed) axles.
