Question Seat Belt Damage & Repair

Yesterday I noticed that both front seat belts in my 2004 Targa have cracks forming in the plastic piece that feeds the belt over your shoulder. The pieces seem to be splitting right down the middle. Will a dealer replace these as a safety issue, even though my car isn't under warranty? Has anyone else had this happen to theirs? Pics attached.

Probably won't consider it a safety issue unless the plastic is fraying the belt. Then NHTSA will most likely have to get involved.

The car is too old for any kind of warranty to apply to anything. That part is a piece of metal covered in plastic, there is no real safety issue to speak of there. Your best bet would be to source some new ones from ebay or something.

Considering how faded it is, looks like UV damaged the plastic. If you replace it, do something so that this doesn't happen again.
