Default Removal of Horseshoe

I have a 2002 coupe and am replacing the stereo with a double din. I have read a few forums and I not quite sure how to remove the horseshoe. One post stated that I will need a small plastic screw driver to use on the clips by the vents another stated that I have to use a plastic pry bar on the sides and one more stated to grab the top part and slow pry it off with your fingers.

Please help I don't want to damage anything.

Thanks

John

It's held on by clips, gently pry it off.

I'm leaning towards the 719 at the moment. Your insight on you choosing the 419 would help me greatly, if you don't mind elaborating on your decision compared with other models.

I choose the 419 over the 719 because of the price and screen size. I mean really how many people watch DVDs in their cars? Yes the larger screen would be nice but for me it was not for the extra money. All I really wanted was Bluetooth / streaming audio with Pandora. I will be using my Iphone5 so I will have to disconnect anyways when I leave the car, so having the rear usb was not a big deal to me.

I just hope someone will make an video out for the iphone5 for the
Garmin Street Pilot® On-Board App Support

Spending a lot of money for a radio is just not one of those things I care to do.

Thanks a bunch for replying. I'm of the same opinions except I leave my iPhone4 plugged in all the time and use my 4s for calls and such. I have the Garmin app and would like to leave the phone plugged in and located in the armrest as I currently do with the Alpine headunit I have in the dash. The only reason I'm thinking of the 719 is for the rear USB. I really like a clean looking dash.....but I'm slowly changing my mind and leaning towards the 419.

So are you using a personal Hotspot with your 4s to 4? If so does the Garmin app work like that?

Never thought of that scenario with the hotspot, but I use the 4 just for Garmin, Pandora and iTunes. The 4s is the daily use phone for everything else.

I am guessing that your 4 is still an active phone?

Do you have the fiber optic MOST system with Bose or copper?
I was thinking of the exact same, but the MOST system is making double think it.
I think it would be real hard to go back to original.
Maybe just install a stand alone NAV below with Blue tooth for phone.

Non Bose 6 speaker system. I've replaced all the speakers and added two amps and 2 JL subs.
