Default making rear wing fixed in up position

1999 C2

I removed my rear wing motor for clearance on a project. Currently the wing is in the raised position with the motor removed and it seems stable, but wind at speed will definitely lower it.

Is there a way to lock the rear wing in the up position?

Thanks

Project? Please elaborate.

If this is a long term thing, just get a fixed wing.

Long term.
I'm waiting to complete it and make a nice write up before starting a thread. But I am looking for some info along the way.

so it sits in this position:

Is that an intercooler in the right side of the picture? A turbo build?

I'm assuming they have hydraulic support arms. If so then fab some fixed arms to the level of your liking.

up or down...none of this 1/2 way stuff

I have a motor and guide assy I will sell hella cheap....you could just use parts and tack, glue, clamp in place

I am a tad of the rolling eyes crowd but the loss of weight is intriguing

Hmmm, I hope you are planning on holding onto that car as removing functional pieces of it in the name of weight savings is just going to turn it into a ghetto fabulous POS.

Somebody had to say it.....

It is a mechanical system. Two rods powered by an electric motor, push outwards (up) and pull inwards (down). I might have to see where full up is and fabricate some plates to not allow the arms to pull inwards.

Thanks for the heads up that it's not fully extended, I'll pull it out further before making any modifications.

I have the full system (sitting next to the car), so I don't need any parts, but thanks for the offer.

This is only a minor part to the project. But

How is manually fixing the rear wing in a position that I want it any different than you using the button under the dash to move it to a position you want it in? Furthermore, how does that make it ghetto fabulous?

Did you remove all the heat shield that was behind your rear bumper ? I assume you plan on putting it back or you risk to have your rear bumper melt away when you park your car :S

My exhaust is routed differently than stock and no cats are underneath the bumper. Melting the bumper is not a concern.

It's a Porsche that is worth less than a mildly optioned Chevrolet Sonic; so modifying it really doesn't have a negative effect financially IMO. Dropping weight on the other hand, that has a positive effect on my view of the car, so it's totally worth it to me.
Aside from power seats and sun/moon roof, my car has no other factory added weight options.

Oooh, there's a lot more than just a simple weight reduction going on here.

Since the wire harness isn't in the car right now, the best bet to fix the wing up in the short term would probably be to extend the wing by powering the motors with some jumped wires and then leaving it unplugged when you hook it back up.
