Default How many out there

I have a 99 C2 with 62000 miles and no major problems. I seem to see a lot of this year and model out there. As a matter of curiosity, how many other owners drive the same year and model with no probs and what milage has your car done? Mine is an artic silver on black cab. OR has anyone had a major problem with a 99 C2

1997-2001 77,846 (all varients of the 3.4) and 85,556 (including a limited number of 3.6's) according to "Porsche 996, The Essential Companion"

2002-2005 89,706 (all variations)

Total production all years 175,262 of which 28,813 were turbo's GT2's and GT3's.

The average over all model years was 21,908/year.

'99 C2, 65,000 miles. No major problems other than routine service and a PITA issue with the convertible top earlier this year (now fixed).

Hurdi, I'm only about an hour south of you. I'll keep a lookout for your car when I'm travelling up that way. I know you'll be easy to spot

No Ivangene I am asking specifically about the 99 C2owners who visit this site. I do have the essential companion book and can find how many C2s were actually made in 1999.. I think you misread my request.

FRIS that would be nice and we could have a natter over a cup of coffee...

Here's an idea. Use meaningful headings instead of starting new threads with vague and ambiguous titles. Seems like a common theme with threads you start. Using proper titles helps people down the road when they're using the search function. Just saying.

Other examples:

Can Anyone Tell Me?
Speak Up Please
It's Hazard A Guess Time.

I owned a '99 Arctic Silver Cab for 7 great years. I had a motor go south at 45K in '06 and with some work and cooperation with the local dealer I got PNA to goodwill one.

I sold it at 62K miles. The car looked and drove nearly like new. The original plastic window in the top was still pliable and crystal clear. Everything worked as it should. I got high retail when I sold it a couple of years ago. I like the first gen headlights the best, the lightness of the '99 and the mechanical throttle much better than the electronic. What I like better about my '04 Cab is the glove box and it has fewer rattles and squeaks common with a cabriolet. I also very much prefer the C2 to the AWD. The new owner has had my old car for 2 1/2 years now as is still pleased with it.

'99 C2 Black Coupe, Manual, 52k miles. No major issues. I had IMS replaced proactively. Spark plugs had to be done this year. Otherwise nothing big. Love it.

I think you will find 2 types of 996 owners here

1. those who are having problems right now and need help
2. those who are doing well and here to help
3. those who just like to gab and blah blah and dont even have a 996

and of the first group you have 2 types

1. those who bail on the car, say its too expensive ect and never come back
2. those who struggle through and become contributing members
3. those you just cant get rid of even after they get rid of their 996

and of the first group there are 2 types

1. those who buy a newer car and go to another forum
2. those who sell it and never own another porsche
3 those who buy an older car and just come here because the gawd damned air cooled forum is boring on rennlist (but who like PP's air cooled forums a lot)

IDK I think I might be a type 2 err...is that 3

Wow, Is this "pick on Hurdi" week or what? OK, I'll bite. Hurdi your car looks fat.

But, seriously, I think he was trying to get an idea about "year model vs. mileage and problems?"

Maybe I should have entitled the new thread. If you own a 1999 C2. Tell us about it. If not then F*** off.

Really? My comment was so bad that it deserves a reply like that? Your threads may contain valuable information but no one is going to find them if you don't make any attempt to relate your title to your subject matter.

Whatever floats your boat.

MOTHER!! Hurdi is sayin bad words again, where is the soap? ,,,, Not just any soap get the LIFE BOUY!

"Over the years I got to be quite a connoisseur of soap. Though my personal preference was for Lux, I found that Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor - heavy, but with a touch of mellow smoothness. Life Buoy, on the other hand... YECCHH!"
